When you think of the word ‘technology’, what comes to mind? It’s a science fiction show or something that runs on electricity, technology forces us to think very complexly, but energy doesn’t have to be complex.

Technology is the use of scientific knowledge for practical purposes or applications, whether in industry or in our everyday lives.

Technology has grown rapidly and is still growing. It has made our life comfortable. It’s a boom for today’s world: mobile and internet. We cannot even imagine without a mobile.

In earlier days, we used to use letters and telegrams for communication, but now within just a few seconds, we can talk to anyone, anywhere. And this has become possible because of technology. So what exactly does this technology mean?

What is technology?

We talk about it a lot and hear a lot about it, but the answer is both simple and surprisingly difficult to answer.

Technology is not a neutral word. Different people have been giving it different meanings depending on their perspectives and context.

Technology begins with understanding how to creatively apply tasks involving people and machines that meet sustainable goals. There are three important aspects of this definition:
Technology is about taking action to satisfy a human need rather than simply understanding the workings of the natural world, which is the goal of science. The invention of the microscope was motivated by the need to explore the tiny world beyond our unaided vision. This technological solution to a long-standing problem has enabled us to understand more of the workings of the world, which has led to the development of more technologies.
It uses much more than scientific information and includes values as well as facts and practical knowledge as much as theoretical knowledge.
It involves systematized ways of doing effects. It covers the intended and unintentional interactions between products (machines, devices, artefacts) and the people and systems that make them, usage them, or are affected by them over various processes.
